The Mountain Bike (MTB) Rack

Our Mountain Bike (MTB) Rack is designed with larger and stronger folding arms to handle both regular MTB tyre sizes as well as plus size tyres. In fact, our MTB bike rack is also suitable for any bike with larger tyre sizes and including eBikes and heavy bikes up to 35kg / 77lbs.

If you have different brands and models of bike there’s no need to worry about the frame geometry or size. As long as they have round front wheels they will fit in our racks!

Like all of our Steadyrack bike wall mounts, you can swivel or pivot your bike side to side up to 160 degrees to get your bike as close to the wall as possible. The vertical mountain bike rack will also fold away when not in use for maximum storage and space efficiency. Our MTB Bike Racks can be mounted on any structurally sound wall or vertical surface, giving you peace of mind whether you’re hanging your MTB in a hallway, in a garage or on a balcony. Wondering if our Steadyrack MTB wall mount is right for your bike? Steadyrack Mountain Bike Wall Mount – Frequently Asked Questions

Storing your MTB vertically in our wall-mounted bike rack will keep your forks well lubricated as it allows the fluid inside to run to the seals, prolonging their use. As our bike rack holds your MTB by the tyre only (it does not touch any other part of your bike), storing vertically will also protect your bike frame. By keeping your bike stored vertically and the forks lubricated, you’ll be shredding the trails harder and faster! Learn more about the benefits of vertical mountain bike storage.

Yes, our Steadyrack mountain bike racks can be used for indoor and garage storage! Storing your MTB indoors keeps it protected from the elements, and with our unique, space-saving bike racks, also opens heaps of room wherever you decide to store your bikes. Our MTB Racks are also ideal for garage storage. Their ability to pivot 160-degrees left and right means you can push your bikes close to the wall and easily park your car and fit your other belongings in the garage. Storing our MTB rack outdoors is definitely possible. To maintain the standard warranty, we recommend storing them in areas which are closed in, under cover or safe from the elements. Our Steadyrack MTB storage racks can be fixed to any structurally sound wall, such as masonry or timber material. Our MTB Racks cannot be installed on gyprock, plasterboard, or drywall as the wall could be damaged when the rack is in use. Wherever you store your MTB (typically these aren’t the lightest bikes around!) just remember, the wall’s gotta be strong!

Yes! This a common concern for many bike owners with these types of brakes and suspension. When your mountain bike is hung up vertically, the fluid in your forks will run towards the seals and keep them lubricated. This will prolong their use, so it’s actually good for your bike and forks to hang it vertically on our bike racks. If you have hydraulic brakes on your bike, the fluid will run down when the bike is hung, so we advise pumping the brakes a few times when you take the bike off the rack if it’s been there for a while. The shocks shouldn’t leak when the bike is hung up, however if they do then it’s a good indication that the seals might need replacing.

Hanging your MTB bike in a Steadyrack storage rack will not cause any damage to your wheels. As no part of the bike frame touches the rack, only the front tire, which is cradled in the steel arms, the bike is completely safe.
